Ancient & Classical Times Workbook: Traditio Nostra I
This workbook accompanies the lecture material and readings for Traditio Nostra I: Ancient & Classical Times (Intermediate). The course covers the three great, ancient contributors to the West: the Hebrews, Greeks, and the Romans. It is both a Literature and Socratic Discussion course. The class format is that of a "great books" seminar -- students read primary works from the great authors and authoresses of the Western Civilization and then discuss them in a round-table format, thus joining in what has been referred to as the "Great Conversation." The students learn to read, listen, speak, relish, and dispute the true, good, and beautiful things that "our tradition" has to offer. This is followed by self-reflection and written assignments.
In this workbook the student will find the Reading Questions and Literary Concept tasks for each unit, which need to be completed while reading the primary sources for Socratic Discussion. A few additional, copyrighted books are required for purchase as well. See Oxrose Academy's booklist for details.
