Important Notice: This course is written to be compatible with the FIRST EDITION of the Real Science for Kids, Focus on Middle School 5-8 Geology and Astronomy "Student Text," "Laboratory Workbook," and "Teacher Manual." Though the First Edition is no longer in print, it is still commonly available used, and is the preferable edition to use. The course can be used with the Third Edition of the book and guidance is provided in the course to aid in doing so. Self-Paced Courses are accessed through our learning management system. The students are guided by clear weekly schedules, instructional videos, and automated assessments. Courses are written to be completed in one academic year, but students set their own pace. No grading is provided, but answer keys are available for most courses. Access is for one calendar year. Intro to Astronomy uses the book Focus on Middle School Astronomy and covers the fundamentals of scientific methodology in practice as it provides the basic vocabulary and concepts for understanding the earth as a planet situated in the solar system, galaxy, and universe.
