The Christian Age WORKBOOK: Traditio Nostra II
This workbook accompanies the lecture materials and readings for Traditio Nostra II: The Christian Age (Intermediate). The course covers the great age of synthesis: form the coming of our Lord to the Renaissance. It is both a Literature and Socratic Discussion course. The class format is that of a "great books" seminar -- students read primary works from the great authors and authoresses of Western Civilization and then discuss them in a round-table format, thus joining what has been referred to as the "Great Conversation." The students learn to read, listen, speak, relish, and dispute the true, good, and beautiful things that "our tradition" has to offer. This is followed by self-reflection and written assignments. In this workbook the student will find the Reading Questions and Literary Concept tasks for each unit, which need to be completed while reading the primary sources for Socratic discussion.
